Words can’t describe how I feel right now, as if it was last year when I returned from the USA ๐บ๐ธ. Layal ‘s return from the USA have made me feel a bittersweet feeling same as when I have left my host family and then returned to my homeland๐ธ๐ฆ.
Dear Layal,
I know it is a new feeling, but you will get over it. After my return from my exchange year, everything looked different in Saudi Arabia; rules, people, streets, etc. Even now, sometimes I feel that way, as if I wasn’t living here before. It took a while to adjust, and here I am trying my best.
At the beginning, it was really hard to communicate with people; we could say it was a culture shock. Everything is going to be better. Crucemos esto juntos!!!
I have never imagined that I would have a great and a supportive family as the YES family. I have always had my friends by my side, but in my exchange experience, I had a strong bond with you (YES family) that no one can feel or imagine. No one can understand our adventures, feelings, and talks except us. Even now, every member of the YES family who has returned to his/her life is still connected. We care about each other. We understand each other. We feel each other. We are here for each other. SIMPLY, WE ARE A FAMILY! WE ARE UNIQUE!
I know that we have met each other for a while, but truly as if we have known each other since a long time. I am writing right now, and my heart is beating so fast as if I was writing my diary when I was on the plane returning from DC to Riyadh. I miss you so much, and I can’t wait to see you in the Diplomatic Quarter after this pandemic. Stay safe and healthy YES FAMILY!๐ธ๐ฆ๐บ๐ธ✈️
